Woolford to tee off in Kiwanis tourney

The Hope Mills Kiwanis Club is having its 12th annual golf tournament at Cypress Lakes Golf Course on March 19.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Prizes will include an all-expenses paid trip to The Masters in Florida and four passes to the event.

Sponsorships can be purchased from $50 to $500.

Former Douglas Byrd High School standout Donnell Woolford, a member of the Clemson Hall of Fame and a former member of the NFL's Chicago Bears, will be one of the celebrity players.

Annual Easter Festival planned

The Hope Mills Parks and Recreation Department will hold its annual Easter Festival on March 27 at Hope Mills Municipal Park and the Recreation Center, located at 5766 Rockfish Road. The first event of the day will be "Breakfast With the Bunny" from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Community Room. Your family can visit with the Easter Bunny while enjoying pancakes, sausage and orange juice. The cost is $5 per person, paid at the door on the day of the breakfast.
